| Supported Aircraft |
Ruby will work with just about any aircraft, but these have an extra degree of support.
Ruby has been tested successfully with a wide range of fixed wing aircraft, including sport, glider, small parkflier, and flying wing, using electric and gas power. We plan to test with even more plane types and to ultimately add support for helicopter and multicopter aircraft.
Aircraft listed here have some or all of the following advantages, however:
- Proven configuration files that allow you to skip or shorten the process
of configuring and tuning Ruby.
- Time saving ready-to-fly aircraft with Ruby installed and configured.
- Money saving kit + Ruby bundles.
- uThere developers, support technicians,
or other Ruby users having direct experience with the aircraft.
- Specific installation, operation notes and forum discussions.
If you don't see your plane or a similar one listed below, and are able to fly your aircraft in manual mode, we'll be glad to work with you to configure and tune Ruby for your plane. You'll send us recorded flight data, we'll review the data and send you updated configuration files, and we'll repeat a few times until Ruby is flying your plane optimally.
We will add planes to this list during and after the Beta Test program.
Contact support@uthere.com to recommend aircraft to be added to this list, and to submit your own settings files for use by others.

Supported Aircraft List
Hobbyzone
Super Cub |
A popular basic foamie electric trainer.
Many people add ailerons to it. Ruby flies and lands it well with or without ailerons.
Now supported. |
 |
| Multiplex Merlin |
"Mini Hotliner" electric glider.
uThere favorite. Tiny, versatile, nimble, wide envelope, very portable, well designed. Soar, hotline, stunt, or just cruise. Drawback:
No payload capacity.
Ready-to-fly and economic kits bundled with Ruby are available.
Now supported.

| Multiplex Easy Glider Pro |
A standard sized glider with ailerons.
Now supported |
 |
| Multiplex Easy Star |
An old favorite amongst FPV pilots. Super stable, for beginners. No ailerons, just rudder and elevator. Compared to a nimble aileron plane like the Merlin, Ruby gets a little bored in this plane.
Expected support date: 2/15/2012 |
 |
| Multiplex Fun Cub |
"Bush pilot" style trainer with oversized landing gear and oversized flaps, great for very short, very slow takeoffs and landings (nearly vertical in the right wind conditions). Flies nice and slow for beginners, but can also do aerobatics.
Expected support date: 2/21/2012 |
 |
| Multiplex Funjet |
Simple, inexpensive, durable. Not normally recommended for beginners, but Ruby can tame it for most people.
Now supported.
